This is the week of, "Huh?" At least in the school universe. The huh comes from the fact that we have two whole days of school this week, count 'em, two. While the junior high and elementary schools may be able to get something done, which I highly doubt, in high school I only see each class once. This means that this is a school week of one day. One day before a long weekend.
Even if I bothered to teach something to the children that actually show up, there is no way their of-the-moment-learning-style could ever harken back to recall the information. I usually set it up so that this week is a work week, where nothing new is introduced and those that deign to show up are rewarded by not needing to come in before or after school to complete their projects. I did this incredibly intelligent planning for this week. I was so happy that I wouldn't have to worry about teaching anything that I would just have to reteach in a week.
At least I was happy until about an hour into being at school, when I suddenly asked myself, "Wait, why am
I here?" This is the first year I really realized how dumb I am. If I have everything planned ahead of time, rather like I do for a substitute teacher, then why don't I have a substitute teacher? Since I had to be my own glorified babysitter I decided to pass the time in an artistic endeavor. Seeing as I didn't have any truly exciting bunny ideas, I decided to do this instead.
Obviously he's not done, and seeing as he was supposed to be something else entirely, something faster, I don't know that I ever will finish him, so I thought I'd put him out in the ether, rather than hiding him in a demo sketchbook, where he currently resides.
